Alesana is an American post-hardcore band from Raleigh, North Carolina. Formed in 2004, the group is currently signed to Revival Recordings and Artery Recordings and have released two EPs and five full-length studio albums. The band gained a wide audience after their debut, On Frail Wings of Vanity and Wax was released, featuring a musical style shifting between light and heavy sounds along with a wide influence ranging to even classic rock bands such as the Beatles. Their audience grew majorly after the release of their third album, The Emptiness, which released in early-2010. Their band name is derived from street named Aliceanna Street, which was the street that vocalist/rhythm guitarist Shawn Milke and lead guitarist Patrick Thompson (who is also the guitarist for Versus Me) grew up on, in Baltimore where all the members originally formed the band.
American rock quartet Picturesque injected pop melody into their aggressive post-hardcore delivery, similar to bands like I See Stars, Hands Like Houses, and Sleeping with Sirens. Formed in Lexington, Kentucky, the band is comprised of vocalist Kyle Hollis, guitarists Dylan Forrester and Zach Williamson, and bassist Jordan Greenway. The group got started in 2014 and also included founding members drummer Cole Clark and original bassist Robert Mote, who both parted ways with Picturesque in 2016. Their first release, 2014's self-titled EP, featured three songs (including debut single "Speak Softly") that would later appear in acoustic form on the Broken Home Sessions EP and the fleshed out Monstrous Things EP, which arrived in 2015. In the summer of 2017, Picturesque issued their debut LP, Back to Beautiful, which included singles "Fake Fiction," "New Face," and "Honestly." ~ Neil Z. Yeung
Veio is a Progressive Hard Rock band from Portland, OR. Veio released Infinite Light//Desperate Shadows in March 2017 and has been touring around the western part of the U.S. in support of the album including dates with Starset. "The freshly formed Veio lineup brings a complex, heavy sound, with notable time signature changes and vocal anthems that peak during choruses, but don’t fizz out. Their sound works to unite both prog rock fans and metal fans, alike, with their carefully crafted song structure, tone and master level of musicianship." -Prog Sphere "The four-piece weave together the melodic side of acts like Tool with the genuine lyrics of Thrice while still fully embracing the post-rock attitude. We get that comparing a band to the highly revered Tool is sacrilege to many, but these boys deserve to be at least in the conversation for their mature and dynamic sound creations." -Ear to the Ground Music
